The difference between chinos and slacks is sometimes a little hard to tell. They are quite similar. The big difference is in the fabric. Pants are made of wool or polyester and are usually a bit thinner. In addition, the pockets of pants are also a bit less noticeable and sometimes they also have a crease in the middle of the trouser legs. Moreover, chinos can also have a small coin pocket - pants do not.
